Part of the fun of being a family photographer isn't just giving families amazing images-- but also taking these families on a new adventure! Check out how this fall family session went at Second Dam this past weekend.

Monica and her youngest two have never been out to see Second Dam, despite going up Logan Canyon many times since the early years of raising her family in Cache Valley. But this is what family photoshoots are all about-- living in the moment, visiting new places, and capturing it all in beautiful photographs. I don't need to tell you how obsessed most people are these days with their cellphones, and it's seems to be even worse with teenagers; and with teenage twins Monica has double the trouble. However-- Second Dam is a hidden gem that will have your family using their phones for exploring rather than texting! These two were beyond ready to see all that Logan Canyon has to offer once we made our way down to the picnic area.
Why Book Your Family Session At Second Dam in Logan Canyon
One of the many reasons I love going up to Logan Canyon for family photos is because most of the hiking trails are toddler-friendly! The same is said about Second Dam, where a long boardwalk sits on the water's edge, two maroon bridges take you over the water onto the trailhead, and beautiful mountain views-- the autumn colors that start to turn the 1st of October make for those classic fall family photos!

Tips For Shooting Photos At Second Dam:
Second Dam is right on the cusp of having and not having cell service, depending on where you are standing; make sure to set up a meeting point for everyone to find each other! Keep in mind that from spring- late fall this dam will be pretty busy as many people love to visit Second Dam for fishing, picnics, and even their own photo sessions.
Truly-- if you have not yet had the chance to take family photos at Second Dam in Logan Canyon, this is your sign that this location is a must for your fall bucket list!
